Guests swarm Ba Ria Vung Tau beaches during first days of Tet

VOV.VN - Up to 50,000 people visited the beaches of Ba Ria Vung Tau during the first two days of the Lunar New Year festival (Tet), representing a sharp increase in visitors over the festive period.

With large numbers of tourists visiting the beaches, the figure is predicted to further increase in the coming days.

Bui Minh Phuc, deputy director of Gio Bien Tourism Site in Vung Tau city, said 90 per cent of rooms in the area were occupied over the first two days of Tet, adding that special attention will be paid to ensure the safety of tourists and the numbers of lifeguards on duty at the beaches will be increased.

Pham Khac To, head of the management board of tourist sites in Vung Tau city, said the crowds of visitors on the first day of Tet were mostly made up of foreigners.

According to statistics, the tourist sites in the city welcomed nearly 50,000 visitors during the first two days of Tet with the figure projected to skyrocket to between 500,000 and 600,000 in the coming days. Strict control over the price of tourism services will be further tightened, Mr To noted.
