Foreign arrivals to HCM City on sharp rise

VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City has welcomed 3.18 million foreign visitors so far this year, a rise of around 32% against the same period last year, and fulfilling 42.4% of this year’s plan, according to the municipal People’s Committee.

The total revenue for the tourism sector (including travel, hotels and restaurants) is estimated at VND51,656 billion, a year-on-year rise of 14.8%, equaling 37.4% of this year’s plan.

In order to meet and exceed this year’s set plan, the municipal Department of Tourism will continue to improve the quality of products and services, focusing on developing waterway tourism, and launching the ‘HCM City – 100 interesting things’ program and a standard tourism service program.

According to a reputable website for online accommodation booking, HCM City is seen as a favourite destination this year with the highest number of bookings in the country, as it serves as a starting point for journeys to discover Vietnam.
