First day of Tet sees 7,000 visit Ngu Hanh Son

VOV.VN - The Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountains) landscape site in the central city of Da Nang welcomed 7,000 visitors, including 3,700 foreign arrivals, during the first day of the Lunar New Year festival.

Quan The Am pagoda was also teeming with people as thousands of visitors flocked there on New Year’s Eve to pray for peace and prosperity during the year ahead.

The management board of the Marble Mountains also offered discounts on the entrance fee to the site for over 1,000 visitors, mostly children and the elderly.

Nguyen Van Hien, head of the Marble Mountains site, said the number of tourists had increased sharply after it was recognised as a special national relic site. The local authorities have worked hard to devise a master plan aimed at preserving and promoting the value of the site.

The city also directed relevant agencies to organise seminars aimed at devising an overall plan for the site to submit to the Prime Minister for approval. Mr Hien expressed his hope that the city would invest in renovating parts of the site to improve the overall experience for tourists.
