Diverse spiritual tours introduced to mark UN Day of Vesak 2025
VOV.VN - Numerous travel companies in Ho Chi Minh City are launching a series of special spiritual tours to mark the UN Day of Vesak 2025 (Vesak 2025).

Part of the Vesak 2025 tour packages is to provide tourists with opportunities to view Lord Buddha’s Sarira, a sacred treasure of India which has been brought to Vietnam for the first time for public veneration.
Tourists can also take part in activities including attending peace prayers, releasing lanterns to pray for peace, enjoying vegetarian cuisine, and visiting relic sites to gain more insights into local culture in association with Buddhist life.
Specifically, domestic and international tourists can choose to participate in spiritual tours at the Vietnam Buddhist University II in Ho Chi Minh City from now until May 8 or at Quan Su Pagoda in Hanoi from May 9 to 14, as well as at Tam Chuc Pagoda in the northern province of Ha Nam from May 15 to 21.
Travel operators will also organise meaningful pilgrimage tours to various famous Buddhist scenic spots nationwide.
Accordingly, Vietravel will launch pilgrimage tours to visit Phat Co Don Pagoda in Binh Chanh district or make a pilgrimage to Ba Den Mountain, home to the largest statue of Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva in Asia.
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said the department is coordinating with various sectors and the People's Committee of Binh Chanh District to host the Binh Chanh Culture and Tourism Week 2025, which is expected to attract the participation of more than 1,200 foreign delegates to the UN Day of Vesak 2025, as well as millions of visitors.
In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has also introduced nine tour programmes of between one and two days for delegates to learn about historical sites, tourist destinations, and handicraft products in Binh Chanh district and neighbouring areas.
