Da Nang to resume air routes to India

Ahmedabad is also home to a several large Indian businesses which have invested in the Vietnamese market.

The Municipal Department of Tourism says Da Nang has also planned to resume and open more international flights to other famous Indian destinations such as New Delhi and Mumbai, alongside other destinations in Asia such as Chengdu, Hangzhou, and Guangzhou in China; Nagoya and Osaka in Japan; and Doha in Qatar.

Furthermore, Da Nang also urged Indonesia and Australia to launch direct flights to the coastal city in order to boost tourism.

Da Nang is expected to welcome 10.3 million domestic and international tourists this year, surpassing the figure recorded in the pre-COVID period. Of the figure, foreigners are estimated to make up 4.2 million.

The number of holidaymakers from East Asian countries, such as the Republic of Korea (RoK), China, and Japan all witnessed a slight decrease in the past months. However, several new markets, including Taiwan (China), India, Australia, and Canada, all saw a sharp increase in the number of tourists.

According to online travel platform Agoda, Da Nang is the most loved destination among Korean tourists, followed by travelers from Taiwan (China), Thailand, China, India, the United States, and Japan.

Currently, there are five domestic routes connecting Da Nang with Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Lat, Hai Phong, and Can Tho, alongside 15 regular international routes to Bangkok of Thailand; Singapore; Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia; Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung of Taiwan (China); Macau (China); Hong Kong (China); Siem Reap of Cambodia; Incheon, Busan, Daegu, and Cheongju of the RoK; Narita of Japan, and Manila of the Philippines.
