Da Nang to offer discounts on entrance tickets for tourist sites in 2021
VOV.VN - The central coastal city of Da Nang is poised to offer free entry to various tourist sites for travelers visiting during the first half of 2021, along with discounts of up to 50% for entrance fees during the second half of next year, according to the Da Nang Department of Tourism.
The move will see both local and international tourists visiting sites such as Ngu Hanh Son scenic area, also known as the Marble Mountain, the Cham sculpture museum, the Da Nang museum, and the Fine Arts Museum, exempt from paying for entrance tickets from January 1 to June 30, 2021.
Furthermore, the entrance fees to these tourist sites are set to be reduced by 50% during the second half of next year.
According to a statement made by local authorities, the proceeds raised from the sale of tickets at these tourist attractions in the central city typically reaches an approximate figure of VND100 billion annually.
A representative from the Da Nang Department of Tourism stated that the policy of allowing free admission to these destinations is set to be carried out in an effort to attract tourists whilst initiating efforts to recover the tourism industry, a sector that has been severely impacted by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Moving forward, the Department of Tourism forecasts that the number of travelers visiting the central city this year will reach an estimated 2.8 million visitors, including 881,000 foreign guests, a drop of 62.5% compared to 2019’s figures with tourism revenue from accommodation and travel services reaching a total of VND4.656 billion, an annual decline of 51.8%.
