Da Nang receives first flight from Kazakhstan
VOV.VN - Budget airline Vietjet’s VJ52 flight carrying nearly 300 international passengers from Almaty, Kazakhstan, landed at Da Nang International Airport at noon on April 2.

Officials from the Da Nang Department of Tourism, Central Airports Authority, Da Nang International Airport, and representatives from tour operators Crystal Bay Tour and Rustar DMC Vietnam welcomed the inaugural flight and its passengers from Almaty to Da Nang.
Travel companies are scheduled to operate four trips per week from Kazakhstan to Da Nang from April to October 2025.
Specifically, there will be two trips per week on Tuesdays and Fridays from Almaty to Da Nang, while there will be two trips per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays on the Astana-Da Nang route.
Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh emphasized that the launch of the Almaty-Da Nang air route will mark an important milestone in connecting Da Nang to Kazakhstan in particular and the broader Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region.
It is expected to attract more visitors from this emerging market, further promoting Da Nang and central Vietnam as prime tourist destinations, said the director.
Later in the evening of April 2, Da Nang is expected to welcome flight 8M-454 from Myanmar Airways International, arriving from Yangon with nearly 120 passengers. This marks the expansion of direct air connections between Da Nang and Myanmar.
The Yangon-Da Nang route, operated by Myanmar Airways International, will run twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays using an Embraer E190 aircraft. With this new route, Da Nang now has direct air links with eight out of ten ASEAN countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, and Myanmar. This increases the total number of international routes to Da Nang to 16 regular routes.
As of April 2, 2025, Da Nang International Airport handles an average of 52 international flights per day.
