Da Nang gears up for golf tourism festival 2022

VOV.VN - The central city of Da Nang is set to host a golf tourism festival 2022 between August 29 and September 2 with the aim of providing a boost to golf tourism development in Vietnam.

According to Tran Phuoc Son, vice chairman of the Da Nang municipal People’s Committee, this is the first time the city has organised such a large scale golf event, which is expected to promote images of Vietnam, and attract golfers and tourists to the country.

The highlight of the festival will be the BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang 2022 which is scheduled to get underway from August 31 to September 2. The BRG Da Nang Golf Club’s Nicklaus Course will be the venue for the competition.

As of August 22, a total of 98 golfers from countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Japan, the UK, Australia, and Switzerland have registered to compete in the tournament.

Along with international seminars on golf tourism development, activities for visitors to experience playing golf and to promote tourism in Da Nang will take place during the festival.

One of the most famous tourist destinations in Vietnam, Da Nang boasts roughly 90 kilometres of coastline and dozens of beaches. Indeed, the central city is now striving to boost tourism in the post-COVID period through golf development.

Last October saw Vietnam named as the World's and Asia's Best Golf Destination at the eighth annual World Golf Awards held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
