Cua Lo tourism festival opens in Nghe An

The opening ceremony took place in Binh Minh square in Cua Lo town with Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Phan Dinh Trac, and a large number of visitors and local residents in attendance.

Over the course of several years, the province’s tourism sector has achieved positive results with the number of tourists increasing by over 15 per cent annually. In 2018 alone, the province welcomed 6 million visitors, bringing in revenue of over VND7.4 trillion.

In the coming year, the locality is aiming to receive more than 6.5 million visitors, which would bring in revenues of VND8.6 trillion.

A representative from the local authorities noted that during this year’s summer season, Cua Lo town has set a target of receiving 3.15 million visitors, a 12.6 per cent increase over last year’s figures. This period alone would earn revenue of over VND3.4 trillion, a rise of 21 per cent.

The opening ceremony of the Cua Lo tourism festival 2019 also featured an art program and a firework display which proved popular with onlookers.
