Cruise ship Seabourn Encore brings foreign tourists to HCM City
VOV.VN - The world’s five-star cruise ship Seabourn Encore docked at a port of Ho Chi Minh City on February 11, bringing more than 1,000 foreign passengers, mainly form the US, Canada, Australia and Europe, to the city.
It marks the first cruise ship carrying travelers to the southern city on the first days of the lunar year of the dragon.
The visitors were given the chance to tour many of the city’s popular scenic spots and to take part in spring festivals taking place locally.
They also discovered lunar New Year celebrations with traditional customs in some localities of the Mekong Delta region.
The return of cruise tourists in the early days of the lunar new year represents a good sign for the local tourism industry in the year ahead, according to the municipal Tourism Department.
Ho Chi Minh City received nearly five million international visitors in 2023 and it aims to welcome six million foreign arrivals in 2024.
