Charter flights from India to Phu Quoc officially launched
VOV.VN - An Air India Express flight, IX101, landed at Phu Quoc International Airport in southern An Giang province on December 10, officially launching a series of direct charter flights from New Delhi to Phu Quoc (DEL–PQC), scheduled to operate through mid-January 2026.
The charter services are organised by India-based online travel platform MakeMyTrip in coordination with partners in Viet Nam and operated by Air India Express. Previously, direct flights between India and Phu Quoc were run by Vietjet Air but were suspended following the COVID-19 pandemic. At present, Indian travellers to the island largely rely on connecting flights via Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. The nonstop New Delhi-Phu Quoc flight takes approximately five hours.
In Phu Quoc, Vietravel is providing dedicated five-day, four-night package tours for Indian visitors, including accommodation, transport, tour guides, sightseeing tickets and catering services.
The itineraries feature the Hon Thom cable car, theme parks, wildlife conservation areas and visits related to traditional pearl farming. The company is also offering individual services such as lodging, transport and admission tickets on a flexible basis.

According to Ngo Minh Quan, Deputy Director of Inbound Department at Vietravel, India is a key market in the company’s international development strategy. The charter flight programme is expected to facilitate travel for Indian tourists while contributing to the positioning of Phu Quoc as a leading island destination in the region.
MakeMyTrip, India’s leading online travel platform with tens of millions of regular users, has identified Phu Quoc as a destination well aligned with Indian travellers’ demand for distinctive experiences, value for money and convenient access. Its representative, Jasmeet Singh, said the launch of direct flights would improve connectivity to the island and help attract more Indian tourists during the current winter travel season.
