Charter flights bringing Russian and CIS tourists to Phu Quoc set for mid‑October launch
VOV.VN - From mid‑October, charter flights from Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to Phu Quoc island in Kien Giang province, will officially commence, injecting new momentum into the island’s tourism industry.

At a ceremony on October 3 announcing the flight schedule for the 2025-2026 period, Anex Vietnam Travel and Trading Company Limited stated that from mid‑October 2025 to April 2026, Phu Quoc will welcome charter flights from Russia and CIS countries, offering foreign visitors more attractive options to explore Vietnam.
The charter flights will operate from 14 cities across Russia and the CIS, with a planned frequency of 75–80 flights per month. Notably, the Moscow-Phu Quoc route will be reinstated.
According to Anex Vietnam, about 60,000 tourists are expected to arrive in Phu Quoc under the charter flight programme from October 2025 to April 2026, with demand for 1,200–1,500 hotel rooms per day. On average, each tourist will stay more than 10 nights on the island.
At the ceremony, Ngo Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone People’s Committee, said the programme represents a great opportunity to promote Phu Quoc’s image not only in the Russian and CIS markets but also to tourists from many countries and territories worldwide.
Phan Dang Anh, Deputy General Director of Anex Vietnam, shared that Phu Quoc’s warm climate and convenient air links meet the growing demand from Russian tourists seeking winter escapes. He added that visitors appreciate the safety and hospitality of Phu Quoc, which enhances their travel experience.
He further stated, “Expanding the winter charter flight network will increase the number of international arrivals to Phu Quoc and promote Vietnam as a destination, creating a springboard for trade and tourism activities. It will further cement Phu Quoc’s role as a high‑end resort hub in the region. In the coming years, Phu Quoc is expeceted to welcome even more Russian visitors through increased flight frequencies, provided service quality is maintained and, importantly, there is an expansion in the number of 3‑ to 5‑star accommodation options.”
