BLANK2Y band arrives in Hanoi for tourism promotion mission

VOV.VN - The boy band BLANK2Y of the Republic of Korea (RoK) has arrived in Vietnam to help promote RoK and Vietnam tourism in its role as the Korea Tourism Honour Ambassador 2022.

BLANK2Y is a rookie in K-pop, consisting of nine members from China, Japan and the RoK. Since its debut on May 24, the band has recorded impressive achievements, with nearly 82,000 copies of its first album sold out and its MV “Thumbs Up” surpassing 13 million views on YouTube.

The band has actively participated in cultural and tourism promotions in the RoK.

“KTO has selected BLANK2Y as the Korea Tourism Honour Ambasador in Vietnam because the song Thumps up in its debut album suits the message that the Korean tourism industry wants to send to Vietnamese people and the world, that is the RoK desires to be loved and selected by tourists worldwide,” explained Lee Jae Hoon, chief representative of the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in Vietnam.

According to the KTO representative, Vietnam is a country with a higher interest in K-pop as well as Korean culture than any other countries in the region.

“So in the future, KTO, together with BLANK2Y, will actively promote tourism through the Korean wave targeting young people,” said Lee.

Lee revealed that a cultural and tourism exchange programme ‘Korea Days in Hanoi’ would be held this November on a large scale with the participation of Vietnamese and Korean artists.

Coming to Vietnam this time, BLANK2Y spent time recording new music products along with enjoying typical dishes in Hanoi.

“We are very lucky to have come to Hanoi when the weather is cool and pleasant. We all love Vietnamese food, especially pho or bun cha. We do not encounter any difficulties during this trip,” said Choi Sung-muk, manager of the band.

Each member of BLANK2Y is expected to have their own ideas to introduce Vietnam’s image to friends and fans.

“This is the first time I have come to Vietnam, but people’s smiles and their friendliness have motivated me to popularise Vietnam in China,” said U, a singer of the band.

Meanwhile, Mikey, another singer of the band, expected to have the opportunity to return to Vietnam with the band to explore tourist destinations and then introduce more about Vietnam to the public in Japan.

Male singer DK desired to popularise major Korean destinations in Vietnam, saying in addition to capital Seoul, Jeju is a very attractive destination for tourists including those from Vietnam, as the island not only possesses beautiful scenic spots but also traditional Korean cuisine.

Male singer Donghyuk was very hopeful that in the near future, BLANK2Y would have joint products with Vietnamese bands.
