Ben Tre named among Asia’s unique riverside destinations
VOV.VN - Digital travel platform Agoda has named the former province of Ben Tre (now part of Vinh Long province) in the Mekong Delta as one of Asia’s most unique riverside destinations, promising visitors stunning landscapes and distinctive cultural experiences.

Described as the “land of coconuts” in the Mekong Delta, Ben Tre is portrayed by Agoda as a tranquil riverside spot along the winding Ham Luong River, flanked by endless rows of green coconut trees.
The travel platform suggests that visitors should take a boat ride through tranquil canals, visit local workshops producing coconut-based products, or enjoy fresh tropical fruits at riverside markets in order to enjoy the charm of Vietnam’s countryside.
“Travelers can immerse themselves in local traditions, enjoy scenic boat rides, or simply unwind by the water’s edge,” notes the platform.
The platform outlined that from the lush coconut groves of Ben Tre in Vietnam to the floating markets of Banjarmasin in Indonesia, these lesser-known spots offer travelers a refreshing escape from the usual tourist trails.
Alongside Ben Tre, Agoda’s list also includes other captivating riverside destinations in Asia such as Banjarmasin (Indonesia), Chiang Khan (Thailand), Kuching (Malaysia), Hahoe Folk Village in Andong (Republic of Korea), Taoyuan (Taiwan, China), Maheshwar (India), and Iwakuni (Japan).
According to Agoda, riverside destinations are uniquely appealing thanks to their blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and tranquility. Here, travelers can immerse themselves in local life, enjoy scenic boat rides, or simply relax by the riverbank.
