Airlines to meet growing travel demand on national days

VOV.VN - The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines along with budget airline Jetstar Pacific have announced they are to put an extra million seats on domestic and international air routes between April 26 and May 5.

The extra seats will come through the airlines putting on roughly 4,700 additional flights in order to meet the increasing demand on Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1).

As a result of the increase, the total number of seats on Vietnam Airlines’ flight network will reach nearly 800,000, a total increase of 78,000 seats compared to the same period last year.

Accordingly, the national flag carrier has scheduled an extra 53,000 seats to be made available on high demand domestic routes such as Hanoi, HCM City to Da Nang, Phu Quoc, and Nha Trang.

Vietnam Airlines has also added over 25,000 seats on international air routes, focusing on air travel between Vietnam and Japan, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, and Cambodia.

Meanwhile, Jetstar Pacific has provided close to 200,000 extra seats on international and domestic routes for the occasion. In addition, the two carriers have also boosted the size of their workforce in a bid to ensure safety is maintained and passengers enjoy a high-quality service.

During the peak season, passengers are advised to use online and kiosk check-in services as a way of saving waiting time at the airport.

Passengers are also recommended to buy their tickets from official websites www.vietnamairlines.com and  www.jetstar.com/vn, as well as official agents and booking offices of the two airlines.
