Airlines add 242, 000 seats ahead of National Day

VOV.VN - Representatives from the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific have stated they will provide an extra 242, 000 seats on domestic flights from August 30 to September 2 in order to meet the passengers’ increasing demand for travel during National Day.

The boost will see Vietnam Airlines put on an extra 15, 000 places, bringing the total number of seats of the airline’s entire domestic network to nearly 162,000. The additional seats will be added to high demand routes between Hanoi and HCM City, along with Hue, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, Da Lat, and Phu Quoc.

Elsewhere in the domestic aviation industry, the budget airline Jetstar Pacific has plans to provide over 80,000 seats on the domestic network.

According to a Vietnam Airlines representative, the airline is to offer a 10 per cent discount on airfares on both domestic and international flights when purchasing tickets online at www.vietnamairlines.com or through the airline’s mobile apps.

This discount will apply to air tickets that are issued from August 30 to September 1, with departures from September 1 to December 31, 2019. The offer does contain conditions in terms of the booking class and is not applicable to flights during peak periods.

In addition, Golden Lotus members are entitled to enjoy double bonus miles when purchasing tickets through the airline’s website or mobile app with departures between now and December 31, 2019.

During the peak travel season, passengers are advised to come up with travel plans ahead of schedule and utilise the online and kiosk check-in services as a means of saving time waiting at the airport ahead of their departure.

Passengers are advised to purchase tickets through the website, mobile apps, or through official ticketing agents of the two airlines. In addition, passengers should request payment invoices as a way of ensuring they do not purchase fake tickets.

Passengers from Vietnam Airlines can get additional information at the website www.vietnamairlines.com, the company’s official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/VietnamAirlines, contact the airline’s ticketing agents, or call Customer Service Centre on 1900 1100.
