1.65 million foreign tourists visit Vietnam in April, down 19.5% against March
VOV.VN - Vietnam welcomed 1.65 million international visitors in April alone, down 19.5% compared to March but up 6.3% compared to the same period last year, reported the National Statistics Office (NSO).

NSO statistics also show four-month foreign arrivals rose 23.8% year on year to 7.67 million. Notably, 6.59 million arrived by air, representing an increase of 27% over the previous year.
Meanwhile, the number of visitors to Vietnam by road also recorded strong growth, reaching 924,900 arrivals, an increase of 7.9%. In addition, visitors arriving by sea also rose by 4.5%, hitting 158,300 arrivals.
During the January - April period, China sent the largest number of its tourists to Vietnam, with nearly two million arrivals, a 56% increase from last year.
This was followed by the Republic of Korea with approximately 1.6 million arrivals, and Taiwan (China) with 440,214 arrivals.
The number of Russian tourists visiting Vietnam in four months reached 166,460 arrivals, more than double the figure for the same period in 2024. With Russian arrivals already accounting for over 70% of the total for the entire year of 2024, Russia became the fastest-growing international source market for Vietnam’s tourism sector during this period.
The Philippines also saw significant growth, with 135,951 arrivals, up 198.3% year on year, double the figure from last year.
