Yunnan strengthens issuance of certificates of origin

(VOV) - For the nine months leading up to October 2015, exports by businesses in the Chinese province of Yunnan to Vietnam jumped 21.4% year-over-year to US$1.05 billion, according to official sources, reports Chinadaily.com.

The newspaper reported, the Yunnan Exit & Entry Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has beefed up measures to improve the overall integrity of the certificate of origin to ensure preferential tariffs are fully realized. 

During the nine months January-September, the bureau issued a grand total of 8,302 certificates of origin for consignments to Vietnam resulting in a reduction of import duties of US$11 million.
