Vietnamese, Korean businesses promote trade links

(VOV) -The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) held a meeting on May 12 with businesses from Vietnam and the Republic of Korea, resulting in a signed cooperative agreement with Korean Daegu Technopark.

It aims to support the two business communities and to expand cooperation in production and distribution of food, cosmetics, and consumer products.

Pham Quang Thinh, Deputy Director of the VCCI’s External Relations Department, said the RoK is especially an important trade and investment partner of Vietnam.

Currently, the country takes the lead among foreign investors in Vietnam with 4,140 projects worth US$37.43 billion.

A series of leading Korean groups have invested in Vietnam like Samsung, LG, Huyndai and Lotte.

The two countries have signed many bilateral and regional trade and investment agreements, particularly free trade agreements.

A representative from Daegu Technopark, Hee Jun Cho, spoke highly of the effective cooperation from partners and Vietnamese businesses while saying that Korean businesses are keen on investing in Vietnam.

Cho said he hoped that both parties will quickly see that trade and investment opportunities and prospects, with support from two governments and business communities.
