Vietnam exports world largest cranes to India

VOV.VN - Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd (Doosan Vina) in central Quang Ngai province began the shipment of three Rail Mounted Quay Cranes (RMQC) weighing 4,440 tons to Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals (BMCT) in India on the morning of March 29.

After leaving Doosan Vina port in the Dung Quat Economic Zone of Quang Ngai, it will take these cranes around four weeks to reach the Indian port, where a group of Doosan Vina engineers will check the products and conduct a trial run before handing them over to the Indian partner.

Each crane weighs 1,480 tons, measuring 143m long, 26m wide, and nearly 74m high, equal to a 20-storey building. They are designed to load and unload containers with a maximum weight capacity of 75 tons.

The three cranes are part of the total 12 RMQCs ordered by the Indian company under a contract signed in 2016. With the most recent delivery, Doosan Vina will have shipped nine cranes to India. The company is gearing up to manufacture the last three to be ready for delivery to the client in September.

RMQC is one of the key mechanical products of Doosan Vina.
