Vietnam attends third China-South Asia Expo

(VOV) - The third China-South Asia Expo and the 23rd Kunming Import and Export Fair  officially kicked off on June 12 in Kunming, Yunnan province, China. 

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai emphasised the Expo has played an important role in promoting regional trade and investment cooperation.  

China has become Vietnam’s largest trade partner over the past 11 years while Vietnam is now the second largest trade partner of China in the ASEAN bloc.

Vietnam has supported all-round cooperation with China as well as Yunnan and facilitated China’s long-term investment, said Hai.

The Deputy PM stressed the need to strengthen connectivity, promote trade and investment in the region. This year, the China-South Asia Expo attracted more than 3,000 enterprises from 31 South Asian and ASEAN countries. Vietnamese representatives are expected to showcase farm produce, footwear and wood products at 144 pavilions.

A host of seminars and forums will be held during the event which runs through June 16.
