Telephone, computer exports decline in April
Export earnings from telephones, computers, electronic products and components saw declines in April but still enjoyed growth in the first four months of 2018, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

However, the overseas shipments of these commodities in the first four months still soared by 36.8% year on year to US$16.59 billion, said the department.
Sharing the same downward trend last month, a month-on-month decrease of 11.1% was recorded in exports of computers, electronic products and components to stand at about US$2 billion.
Nearly US$8.33 billion worth of these items were exported between January and April, up 10.8% from the same period last year.
Earlier, the General Department of Vietnam Customs estimated the country’s total trade revenue in the four months at US$144.13 billion, up 14.4% year on year.
Of the figure, the export value was likely to reach US$73.76 billion, up 19%, while the import turnover was calculated at US$70.37 billion, up 10.1%.
