Mozambique, Vietnam enhance business-to-business connectivity
(VOV) -A Vietnam-Mozambique forum of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) was held on June 24 in the capital of Maputo, attended by the two nations’ business representatives from trade and investment promotion agencies and more than 50 local businesses.
This is an activity of economic diplomacy celebrating the 40th anniversary of the two nations’ diplomatic ties.
In the framework of the forum with business-to-business (B2B) connectivity activities, some major companies of Vietnam introduced a broad array of key export products as well as their operations and the need for cooperation and trade exchanges with Mozambique partners.

Speaking at the forum, Vice Chairman of the Confederation of Business Associations of Mozambique Prakash Prelhad, appreciated the presence of Vietnam enterprises and the practical initiative for the organization of the B2B forum. He suggested businesses should strengthen direct exchanges to fully tap their advantages for stronger trade links for mutual benefit.
Mozambique wants Vietnam enterprises to further bolster economic presence in the country and is ready to open its doors for them, he said.
Hanoi Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Association (HASMEA) Vice Chairman Mai Quoc Anh in turn talked about his association’s economic cooperation potential and the capital city’s enterprise support policies to increase international cooperation and overseas market expansion.
“This is the first time the Association has dispatched a business delegation to Mozambique, showing the growing interest of municipal businesses in this promising market," Quoc Anh told the forum participants.
Vietnam Ambassador in Mozambique Nguyen Van Trung said the participation in the event by numerous local businesses expressed the great attention and cooperation goodwill of the Mozambique business community to Vietnam.

The Vietnam Government always pays heed to developing economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. In this spirit, in 2015, the Vietnam Embassy has planned many activities to support Vietnamese businesses in market research aiming to maximize trade potential.
The Ambassador also answered questions from Mozambican businesses about Vietnam's policies regarding economics, trade and investment with the African market in general and Mozambique in particular. He also affirmed his embassy’s willingness to act as a bridge providing market information and special assistance for establishing direct relations between businesses.
