Livestock & Meat Industry Show opens in HCM City
VOV.VN - As many as 300 businesses from 35 countries across the globe are participating in the 2016 Vietnam’s Premier International Feed, Livestock & Meat Industry Show (Vietstock 2016) which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on October 19.
The biennial event hosted by the Department of Animal Husbandry under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is designed to boost the sustainable development of animal husbandry.
On show are livestock varieties, husbandry equipment, machinery for cattle-feed processing factories and animal medicine.
Head of the animal husbandry department Hoang Thanh Van said the sector is experiencing a shift from small-scale farming to industrial livestock production to ensure food safety and reduce environmental pollution, noting that the industry has posted high growth over the past 15 years.
Vietnam has become one of the leading animal feed producers in ASEAN, he added.
The event running until October 21 aims to help businesses access scientific and technological advances in the field and market information as well as exchange experience and seek partners.
