Honda uncovers king of European commuters

The expected image of the new Honda SH 1251 and SH150i scooter models, to be marketed under the SH luxury motorcycle brand by Honda Vietnam, have been released attracting great public interest.

This is to reaffirm Honda’s pioneering and leading position in the local scooter segment targeting both male and female riders. The SH 1251 and SH150i will be debuted in Vietnam and marketed all over the world.

The big-wheeled and flat-floored SH125 /150i adopt the Honda Smart Key system. A new design and the LED head and taillights give an even sportier look, and practicality is improved with a charger socket and increased storage space.

Minoru Kato, general director of Honda Vietnam, said at the launching ceremony, Honda has developed the new SH125i/150i with a functional and appealing design. The models are equipped with a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 125/150cc ‘eSP’ engine that was developed as the new next-generation engine and designed as the quitest and most fuel-efficient in its class (125cc class, data according to Honda research).

As a global model nurtured in Europe, this SH125i/150i is a model that provides riders with comfort and pride. It is a model we can recommend with confidence as a flagship commuter that is second to none in Europe.

The models also come with the SMART Key system, an anti-theft feature which provides riders with optimal features, such as Remote Locking and Unlocking, Alarm Functions as well as Location Finding, which is useful to find the vehicle in crowded motorcycle parking areas. Notably, two wireless remote control fob keys are provided by Honda Vietnam for customers’ ease and comfort.  With the fob keys, riders can lock or unlock their motorcycles remotely just like automobile users.

Last year, the Ministry of Transport’s (MoT) Vietnam Register has requested Honda Vietnam to recall a batch of SH scooters due to an error in the anti-theft software. As the ministry’s announcement pointed out, Honda’s latest SH scooters sport the latest anti-theft software (Honda SMART Key), which will blare automatically for ten days if the scooter is stolen. However, the system was found not to meet the desired design targets.

The SH-series have been leading the market since the introduction of the first model, keeping an edge over competition through the adoption of advanced technology, highly useful specs, and equipment, as well as high-quality design—a constant renaissance at each model change.

Honda Vietnam also offers a three-year/30,000 kilometres warranty with six regular free-of-charge check-ups to ensure customers good quality and reliable products.
