Exports jump in first quarter, imports slide

VOV.VN - Total commercial trade for the first three months of 2016 registered US$75.0 billion, according to the most recent figures from the General Statistics Office (GSO) of Vietnam.

Overseas consignments for company’s operating in Vietnam for the period January-March jumped 4.1% overall year-on-year to US$37.88 billion, with exports for the FDI and domestic sector tallying in at US$27.04 billion and US$10.84 billion, respectively.


Meanwhile preliminary numbers show imports dipped 4.8% to an estimated US$37.1 billion the GSO reported.
