Cambodia imports 100,000 tons of fresh vegetables
VOV.VN - Cambodia annually imports around 100,000 tons of fresh vegetables worth roughly US$200 million from Vietnam, Laos and Thailand.
Secretary of State for the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Vonxay Visat, said Cambodia is running short of vegetables as its agricultural production heavily depends on rain-water due to poor irrigation system.
In fact, Vietnam has shipped fresh vegetables since 2009 with export volume increasing from 200 tons per day to more than 300 tons currently.
