(VOV) - On August 20, the Vietnam Embassy in China hosted a workshop in Beijing to promote bilateral trade, investment and tourism cooperation between the two countries.
Attendees discussed measures to lift two way trade turnover to US$100 billion.
Vietnam Ambassador Nguyen Van Tho praised positive development in Vietnamese Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership and expected participants to look for solutions for promoting bilateral potential and realizing targets set by leaders from both countries.
A professor from the Chinese Academy of Social Science, Bo Zhengshui, said China’s recent devaluation of the Yuan does not impact bilateral trade balance as Vietnam has also adjusted its exchange.
“Vietnam was the most rapid in exchange rate adjustment and there will be no major impact on bilateral imports and exports. We should look for other measures to ensure a balanced trade rather than depending on foreign exchange rates," he added.
