Australia, Vietnam promote commercial cooperation

(VOV) - Vietnam Ambassador to Australia Luong Thanh Nghi has just returned from a visit to Tasmania, Australia where he sought to boost cooperation in trade, agri-forestry and aquatics, education and tourism.

During meetings with Tasmania leaders, Nghi briefed them on Vietnam’s economic achievements over recent years.

He spoke highly of Tasmania’s potential, a place famous for its clean agriculture and sustainable tourism development, and said he hoped that Tasmania will share their experience with Vietnam.

Governor of Tasmania Kate Warner and other leaders highlighted Vietnam’s achievements during recent times and showed their strong desire to boost cooperation in trade and education with Vietnam.

Currently, Vietnam’s total annual goods and services trade with Tasmania has on average reached around US$120 AUD.

During the visit to Tasmania, Ambassador Nghi visited University of Tasmania in which around 90 Vietnamese students are enrolled.

Nghi urged Tasmania University leaders to provide more scholarships and grants to Vietnamese students in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
