Australia stops levying anti-subsidy duties on Vietnam steel
VOV.VN - The Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) of Australia has decided to end probes and not to impose anti-subsidy duties on aluminum extrusions and zincs coated (galvanized) steel imported from Vietnam, according to the Vietnam Competition Authority.
For aluminum extrusions, ADC concluded that one out of three Vietnamese companies, which agreed to cooperate with ADC did not receive any subsidy from the Government while two others and other producers and exporters received subsidies but they never exceeded the negligible level.
For galvanized steel, the Vietnam Government was accused of giving subsidy for its businesses in 19 programs related to tax, investment, and trade promotion.
After conducting investigations, ADC identified that companies which agreed to cooperate with ADC just received subsidy from three out of the 19 programs mentioned earlier, but the subsidies for these companies and other producers and exporters did not exceed the negligible level.
Thus, ADC decided to end investigations and not to impose anti-subsidy duties on the two Vietnamese products.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said ADC conclusion is a success of the Vietnamese government and businesses.
