Agriculture, forestry and fishing exports jump 5.6%

VOV.VN - Agriculture, forestry and fishing exports for the eight months leading up to September of 2016 have jumped 5.6% on-year to US$20.6 billion, according to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Rice exports dipped 16.6% in volume and 13.1% in value to an estimated 3.37 million metric tons at US$1.51 billion for the eight-month period. China was the biggest market for Vietnamese rice, holding a 36% market share.

Overseas consignments of coffee surged 39.9% in volume and 20.7% in value tabulating in at 1.27 million metric tons valued at US$2.25 billion. Germany and the UK were the two largest markets for the eight-month period.

Meanwhile, aquatic exports inched up 4.1% to US$4.3 billion and wood and timber products dipped 0.6% to US$4.3 billion with the US, Japan and China the three largest export markets for both groupings.
