Police of Vinh Long province have arrested and searched the residence of a local man for “abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State, and the legitimate rights and interests of organisations and individuals” as stipulated in Clause 2, Article 331 of the 2015 Penal Code (amended in 2017).

Police in Nhu Xuan district, the central province of Thanh Hoa, have launched a probe into and temporarily detained a man for “abusing the rights to democracy and freedom to infringe on the State’s interests and rights and legitimate interests of organisations and individuals”.

Police have officially commenced criminal proceedings against Nguyen Son Lo, residing in Hanoi, for the charge of “abusing the rights of freedom and democracy to violate the State’s interests, rights and legitimate interests of organisations and individuals” under Article 331 of the Penal Code.
