Vietnam and the Philippines are stepping up cooperation to ensure food security, with rice trade emerging as a key pillar of their partnership amid growing global uncertainties.
Rice export curbs by some countries like India, Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will offer opportunities to both Vietnamese exporters and farmers, heard a regular press conference held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) in Hanoi on August 1.
Vietnam’s rice output topped 43.86 million tonnes in 2021, up 1.1 million tonnes year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
