VOV.VN - The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap has said it is going to receive the first six red-crowned cranes from Thailand to Vietnam, as part of efforts to restore and develop the species through captive breeding and reintroduction into the wild.
Four red-crowned cranes were spotted at the Tram Chim National Park in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap on March 7, the forest’s management board has reported.
VOV.VN - Tram Chim National Park in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap has been a habitat for red-crowned cranes, an endangered bird species listed in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)’s Red List of Threatened Species.
More than 30 red-crowned cranes have returned to the Phu My Biosphere Reserve in Kien Giang province and the Tram Chim National Park in Dong Thap province after a year of absence.
