As part of the Francisco de Pina and the Journey of the Romanised Vietnamese Script – A Cultural Bridge between Vietnam and Portugal project, the Association for the Promotion of Vietnamese Culture APCV, in coordination with authorities of Guarda city, will organise a series of cultural and community-connection events.

As Vietnam and Portugal are celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, both governments have agreed to open embassies in each other’s capitals, which is considered a foundational step to propel the bilateral relationship to a new level, according to Nguyen Manh Thang, Chargé d’Affaires at the Vietnamese Embassy in Portugal.

Since establishing diplomatic relations on July 1, 1975, Vietnam and Portugal have cultivated a deepening bond, marked by political goodwill, expanding economic ties, and vibrant people-to-people exchanges.

The Portugal–Vietnam Friendship Association has made its debut in the Portuguese city of Porto, marking a significant step in strengthening ties between the two countries.
