Representing more than 6.5 million overseas Vietnamese (OV) worldwide returning home to attend the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, many overseas delegates expressed their joy and pride in being part of the national unity bloc, along with a strong aspiration to join hands in building a prosperous country.

Delegates to the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress visited President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum in Hanoi on December 26 afternoon to pay their respects.

Overseas Vietnamese (OV) are not only an inseparable part of the nation but also a vital bridge in Vietnam’s international integration and development, said Nguyen Hong Son, President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Japan (UVAJ) and a delegate to the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress.

The 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress is set to convene in Hanoi on December 26–27, drawing 198 guests and 2,025 official delegates organised into 105 delegations.

State President Luong Cuong attended a ceremony on November 17 at Hanoi National University of Education to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20) and the 8th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the education sector, during which he emphasised that innovating and improving the quality of education is an urgent requirement.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs organised a ceremony in Hanoi on August 27 to celebrate its 80th founding anniversary (August 28) and convened its first Patriotic Emulation Congress, where Party General Secretary To Lam praised its important role in shaping national governance and ensuring social welfare.

A nationwide emulation movement with the theme “Solidarity, creativity, and emulation to build and safeguard the Fatherland” was launched for the 2021-2025 period by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on December 10.

Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong on December 10 highlighted the contributions of the patriotic emulation movement to the country's socio-economic achievements over the past years.
