In its determined efforts to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, Quang Tri province is tightening supervision, from fishing ports to offshore grounds. Alongside strict monitoring of unqualified vessels, the province is encouraging livelihood transition to foster a sustainable and efficient fisheries sector.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) forecast that aquatic product exports will bounce back at the end of the third quarter and reach the yearly revenue target of US$10 billion.

Vietnam will further intensify the long-term efforts that it has made over the past more than four years to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing for a sustainable fisheries sector and the lifting of the European Commission's "yellow card" warning on the country.
