VOV.VN - Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology is seeking public feedback on a draft circular that would require continuous biometric verification of mobile subscribers, a move aimed at curbing SIM card fraud, spam calls and telecom-enabled cybercrime.
Vietnamese telecommunications businesses have prevented more than 92,000 subscriptions from spreading spam calls, and more than 35 million fake calls in the first six months of the year, said the Ministry of Information and Communications.
Vietnam’s telecom carriers stopped more than 22,000 spam calls in the first two months of this year.
