Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang on July 1 chaired a meeting to review Vietnam’s non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in the first six months of 2021.

The inter-sectoral working group on Vietnam’s non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) convened a meeting on April 1 to review the country’s activities in the first quarter and sketch out orientations for the coming time, especially when Vietnam takes over the presidency of the council for the second time in April.

The UN General Assembly’s recent adoption of a resolution on ASEAN-UN cooperation has demonstrated the UN’s acknowledgement of the grouping’s position and capacity, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung has said.
