Vietnam is gradually diversifying financial mechanisms for nature conservation, with trillions of Vietnamese dong mobilised each year for forest protection and development, as well as livelihood support for local communities.

The Centre for Nature Conservation and Development and the Department for Nature Conservation and Biodiversity jointly held a consultation meeting on November 22 to finalise a project to receive and raise, and restore the populations of Indian hog deer, Rucervus eldii, giant muntjac, and Truong Son (Annamite) muntjac.

A meeting to finalise a strategy to raise funds for species conservation in Vietnam was held by the Centre for Nature Conservation and Development in collaboration with the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Agency under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in Hanoi on November 22.
