Since its launch in March 2022, the eTax Mobile application has recorded more than 13 million downloads and processed over 17.2 million transactions, with more than VND26.5 trillion or US$1.1 billion paid into the state budget.

Vietnam’s electronic tax system has resumed full operations starting at 8am on March 17, after a temporary suspension for system upgrades and data restructuring, the tax authority announced.

As many as 30 big foreign suppliers, including Microsoft, Facebook, Netflix; Samsung; TikTok; and eBay made tax declaration via the portal http://Etaxvn.gdt.gov.vn and paid US$22.2 million worth of tax, according to a report recently submitted by the Ministry of Finance to the National Assembly.

The first six banks have provided accounts for users to make online tax payments via the eTax Mobile application.

The General Department of Taxation on March 21 held a conference to launch a portal for foreign suppliers and an electronic tax mobile app - Etax-Mobile.
