VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called for accelerated efforts to remediate land contaminated by bombs and mines left from past wars, aiming to complete cleanup nationwide by 2045.
Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Defence Sen. Lieut. Gen Hoang Xuan Chien said he hopes that the US will continue offering long-term funding to Vietnam to help the country deal with the consequences of bombs, mines and unexploded ordinance left over from the war and create gainful livelihoods for those living in affected areas.
PeaceTrees Vietnam (PTVN)’s bomb and mine clearance team announced on August 15 that it had successfully handled a vault containing 144 unexploded ordnances (UXOs) in the central province of Quang Tri.
