The Government has issued a decree regulating the implementation of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction.

Ambassador Pham Hai Anh, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN), has highlighted the importance of building trust in solving the chemical weapon issue in Syria.

Vietnam has reiterated the consistent policy in favour of non-proliferation and disarmament regimes, as well as the country’s support for the role of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in ridding the world of chemical weapons.
