Da Nang International Airport on April 10 launched a dedicated priority lane for passengers using biometric identification, marking a significant step forward in digital transformation in the aviation sector.

From December 1, 2025, most domestic air passengers in Vietnam will bypass traditional check-in counters and proceed directly to security and boarding using biometric identification linked to the VNeID app or self-service kiosks.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has agreed to proceed with the biometric identification (facial recognition), authentication and use of electronic chip-embedded citizen identity cards and passports and level 2 e-identification accounts for passengers at Phu Bai International Airport in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.
