Star Telecom (Unitel), a joint venture between the Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) of Vietnam and the Lao Asia Telecom under the Lao Ministry of National Defence, has been recognised as the telecom operator with the best network infrastructure in Laos.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 8 complimented Star Telecom (Unitel), a joint venture between Vietnam’s Viettel Global JSC and Lao Asia Telecom, on its effective operations over the past 15 years, contributing to socio-economic development and social security in Laos.

Viettel Global (UPCoM: VGI) reported a net profit of over VND1.2 trillion (US$47.5 million) for the second quarter of 2024, with net revenue increasing by 27%.
