More than 2,000 visitors have toured the Vietnam World Documentary Heritage Space within a week of its opening, highlighting growing public interest in archival heritage.

A new exhibition space introducing Vietnam’s World Documentary Heritage and outstanding national archival materials in Hanoi officially opened to the public on March 3.

The Ministry of Home Affairs’ State Records and Archives Department on January 28 unveiled a space introducing Vietnam’s world documentary heritage and outstanding national archival collections, in a move to make historical records more accessible to the public.

Quang Ninh Museum is preserving a rich collection of French-language documentary heritage, including photographs, maps, and administrative documents from the colonial period, hailed as a valuable source for historical and cultural research and a promising asset for tourism development.

The People’s Committee of central Da Nang city on March 1 received a certificate recognising 78 “ma nhai” steles on its Ngu Hanh Son Mountain as part of documentary heritage under the Memory of the World Committee for Asia and the Pacific (MOWCAP).

Two heritage pieces of Vietnam were recognised as part of documentary heritage in Asia and the Pacific on November 26, at the 9th general meeting of the Memory of the World Committee for Asia and the Pacific (MOWCAP) in Andong city, the Republic of Korea.

The Hue Monuments Conservation Centre has completed the compilation of a dossier for the national treasure of “Cuu dinh” (Nine Dysnatic Urns) to seek recognition as a world documentary heritage, said Dr Le Thi An Hoa from the centre.
