Young kickboxers to compete at world championships
Vietnam will send 18 fighters to the Youth World Kickboxing Championships, to be held next week in Hungary.
Among the participants are Truong Nha Phuong, Kieu Dinh Son, Vo Ngoc Han, Vo Thi Kim Duyen, Le Hoai Nam, Nguyen Vo Dang Khoa, Le Thuy Kiem Ngan and Tran Nguyen Bao Ngoc who are considered the fighters with the greatest potential and rose to prominence at the recent national championship in Binh Dinh province.
They will be facing strong opponents from across the globe and across all weight categories from August 23 to September 1.
"This prestigious event is the culmination of four years of hard work, dedication, and passion for our sport, and it will showcase the best young talents from all over the world," said Roy Baker, President of the World Association of Kickboxing Organisations.
"Kickboxing is more than just a sport. It is a way of life, a culture and a community. It teaches us valuable lessons such as respect, discipline, courage and solidarity. It also promotes health, fitness, and well-being for both body and mind. And most importantly, it brings us joy, excitement and friendship."
It is the first time that a Vietnamese delegation is going to be taking part in this level of a tournament since the Vietnam Kickboxing Federation was established in January.
