Young gymnasts win big at Incheon world champs

VOV.VN - Vietnamese young gymnasts won four gold, two silver and three bronze medals on June 16 at the 14th Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships and the 7th World Age Group Competition in Incheon, RoK.

The gold medals went to Nguyen Che Thanh in the boys’ singles event, Nguyen Hoang Phong-Thuy Vi and Giang Nam-Ngoc Anh in mixed doubles and Che Thanh-Hoang Phong-Thuy Vi in the triple event.

Pham The Gia Hien and Vi-Ngoc-Phong-Che Thanh-Thanh Thanh each earned a silver medal in the boys’ singles.

The bronze medals went to Gia Hien-Minh Phuong in mixed doubles and Tran Ha Vi and Ton Nu Thanh in the girls’ singles.

Delegations from 40 countries are competing in the tournament, the largest in the International Gymnastics Federation, including the world strongest teams – Spain, France and Bulgaria.

A total of 20 Vietnamese athletes have so far competed in 15 of the 17 events at the Namdong Gymnasium in Incheon.
