World Vietnamese martial arts in HCM City

The first ever World Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts Championship will be held in HCM City on July 24-30.

The event is expected to lure more than 850 participants including martial artists, coaches and referees from 50 delegations.

They will compete in five different combat and performance disciplines for men and women, vying for 52 sets of medals.

It is one of the first official activities by the world federation and is scheduled to be held every two years.

The federation hopes that the championships in 2020 will bring together up to 60 countries.

The event will be held at the Phu Tho Gymnasium, 219 Ly Thuong Kiet Street.
