World-famous journalist impressed by Vietnam’s mega stadium project

VOV.VN - Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has expressed his impression after Vietnam began construction of what is planned to be the largest stadium in the world.

On his Facebook page, which has around 30 million followers, Romano shared information about the Trong Dong Stadium project, writing that Vietnam has started construction of the largest stadium in the world. The stadium is called Trong Dong and will have a capacity of 135,000 seats.

The post quickly drew thousands of reactions shortly after being published.

Romano is one of the most trusted reporters covering the global football transfer market. The Italian journalist is widely known for his signature phrase “Here we go”, which he uses when confirming that a transfer deal is about to be officially announced.

Before Romano shared the information, several international sports outlets, including beIN SPORTS USA and SPORTBible, had reported on Vietnam’s plan to build the stadium.

According to available information, Trong Dong Stadium is a national-level project developed on an area of 73.3 hectares. The stadium is designed to seat 135,000 spectators and meet FIFA standards.

The stadium will feature the world’s largest retractable roof. Construction is expected to be completed in August 2028.
